Soap Delights

There is nothing I love more than the smell of sweet, fruity perfumed soaps and I love that they can leave your house smelling like heaven. I always keep a stash of soaps in my bathroom-not just because they look pretty but because I just think a beautiful scented soap makes bath time feel so much more luxurious and relaxing. Who doesn't love soaking in a bubble bath with candles lit and the gorgeous smells wafting around the house?. It's like a spa experience in the comfort of your own home.

I love having a mix of treats to choose from so tend to keep a mixture of soaps and bath bombs. Lush cosmetics are amazing as we all know and some of their bath bombs are just beautiful. Bomb Cosmetics are another brand that have the most amazing, beautiful soaps I have ever seen. The colours and finishes are just Divine and are a brand I am quickly becoming obsessed with. I especially love the coconut type sprinkles on some of their soaps-they literally look like slices of cake!.

I stock them all in a pretty pink dish I picked up from Ikea ages ago and it really adds something extra special to my bathroom. The smells literally fill the house and I love that it looks so pretty. Whenever I feel like a long soak in the bath I just choose a soap and let the pampering commence. I am running low on Bath bombs so feel a trip to Lush and my nearest stockist of Bomb Cosmetics is needed shortly but until then I have plenty of beautiful soaps to keep me smelling fresh!

Do you keep something similar with your Bath Treats?

My New Toy *Happy Face*

Monday was the end of an era.  I said goodbye to iPhone and hello to Nokia (once more).  I haven't had a Nokia since the good old days of the 3310 and things have moved on somewhat since then.  I have been a die hard iPhone girl from day 1.  I completely got sucked into the apple world of hi 5's, camping outside for a new release (OK I never did that), Apple snobbery and insanely shit battery power.  It is due to the battery that I made the mahoosive decision to move away from my beloved iPhone 5 and on to the Nokia Lumia 1020.  I'm not going to lie, I continuously had second thoughts through the whole upgrade procedure but now after a few days of adjusting, I'm 100% positive I made the right choice.
OK so lets talk about the nitty gritty details about the Nokia 2010...na not really, I'm not a phone geek but I will tell you a bit about the camera, which is to be fair the main reason why I went with this phone.  Its a huge 41MP Carl Zeiss lens, which is already giving my DSLR (Nikon D7100) a run for it's money!  There are loads of cool effects and functions with the camera too, for all you DSLR users out there, it's as easy as using your own camera; ISO, White Balance, Focus, Exposure, shutter speed...they're all completely editable just like a DSLR!  The f number can go as low as 2.2 which isn't bad for a phone camera.  I haven't had time to sit down and play with it properly yet but I will post some shots to show you how it compares to my DSLR.  There's a range of special shots you can take with the smart-cam too; action shots, the perfect shot, remove unwanted objects, make a strobe effect to emphasize motion and much more!  I'll be talking more about the camera on the blog but if you want to check out all the specs then visit the Nokia website here.
The advice I would give any other bloggers or photography enthusiasts out there would be to seriously consider this phone, for the camera alone it's totally worth it!

Transition

Here I go again with the culottes, I told you it was an obsession!  I've got another pair to blog in the next week too so sorry for the culotte overload but they are a must-wear for next season :)  Culottes are also a good piece to wear for this transition period where you want to introduce next season's trends to your daily looks but don't want to freeze your ass off.  Obviously you will need to add skin coloured tights which I know some peeps aren't a fan of, but so long as you buy the non-granny ones and carry a spare pare (in case of ladderage!) you'll be set. These culottes are from River Island and come with the little chain belt (they also come in a shorter length if these don't tickle your fancy).  For those office workers these might be a nice alternative to pencil skirts for your spring/summer work wear wardrobe.

All Black

There's just something super chic about all black.  I always used to think that it was boring and takes no thought but if layered right with different pieces and even accessories I think it can give an all black outfit some depth.  I probably could have added some sort of silver or gunmetal statement necklace here but I didn't want to be too dressy today.

L'Oreal Nude Magique

I actually picked this L'Oreal Foundation up ages ago but have I only just got around to using it and I have to say I really like it! I love the frosted glass bottle, probably not the most practical when it comes to dispensing but pretty all the same!.

It is a completely liquid foundation and you need to give the bottle a good shake to ensure the foundation all mixes so you get even distribution. It is very 'watery' and therefore it can be quite hard to manage how much you dispense so it is best to dispense small amounts at a time. I find it easier to apply with my fingers as opposed to a brush. It feels so lightwieght and 'feathery' on application and my skin feels so smooth, and it gives the feel that your skin is actually bare. Coverage is fairly light, which is what I prefer, but for those who require a bit more coverage It's probably not the 'one'. I use shade Porcelain, the lightest of the six shades available. Not alot of options shade wise which is a disadvantage as it is a really good foundation.

It sets to a satin finish and my skin feels like it can 'breathe' and  I almost forget I have any foundation on it feels that light!. I really love this foundation and will definitely be repurchasing when it runs low. It retails at £9.99 for 20mls, which is pretty reasonable. If you are after light coverage that gives you that 'fresh no makeup' look then this is the foundation for you!.

Anybody tried this Foundation and What did you Think?

Mon Belle

First of all apologies for the lack of the promised video over the weekend.  I have edited it, but I can't find a suitable music to accompany it, so please bare with!  Secondly, who was to know that my boyfriend would be a total trend predictor?!  He bought me this faux leather jacket from H&M for Christmas (this was an 'off list' gift) in 2012; I have never worn it, in fact, I kind of disliked it (not totally unusual for his 'off list' gifts, bless him).  But like many trends, white leather is now having it's turn and I absolutely love this jacket!  I am glad I didn't eBay it after all!  What's more is that in this mild winter we're having, it's totally wearable, maybe throw on a scarf, hat, gloves etc if it gets super nippy :)  So it's a hooray for my boyfriend and hooray for white leather (or faux in this case).

Nivea Soft Moisturising Cream

Everybody always needs a good moisturiser and if you are after a cheap and cheerful one then Nivea is the one for you. I have always loved Nivea Moisturiser-super affordable and so multifunctional so when I saw this gift set of two massive tubs for only £7 plus if you bought one set you got the second gift set free, I snapped them up...These tubs will literally last forever!.

This cream is so soft and leaves my skin feeling really soft, supple and moisturised and considering one 200ml tub alone costs £4.25 in Superdrug  and £6.02 in Boots then this set is great value. Definitely a great all rounder moisturiser if you want to spend less for a product that does a great job.The cream itself is not fragranced but just smells so fresh and clean. I have used this cream for years, alternating between more expensive moisturisers' but I always have a tube of Nivea in my bag somewhere so these Tubs will definitely get a lot of love .

Do you use Nivea and do you love it as much as me?

Sheepskin

I've been waiting for the weather to turn super cold so I could wear this sheepskin coat.  It was my Grandmas and she passed away last May so I inherited this coat, and it's just the warmest thing everrrrrr!  It's like a giant UGG boot for your body.  I'm not sure what decade it's from but it's got such a 70's vibe, I feel like I should be in some old school detective programme!

What's In My Bag

I have seen a few of these What's In my Bag type posts floating around the blogosphere and decided to join in, as it makes a change from all the beauty posts. If you are anything like me a nosey bugger then you'll enjoy seeing what goodies other people carry around all day and what essentials means to them..This is a clean cut version of my bag, because lets face it-nobody needs to see all the receipts I seem to accumulate at the bottom of my bag. I can tend to overfill my bag, but I am attempting to be more tidy and this means being more practical with what I really need with me.

First up is my current bag of choice, My lovely TopShop holdall that I picked up in the sale ages ago-I think it was £20 if I remember correctly?! I love the colour and I just think it's a really beautiful bag. So onto the contents of my bag-my phone of course which I would be lost without! My kindle, which isn't exactly an essential daily item but you never know when you have a spare few minutes to read or browse. My diary which is really just to note down my work shifts and appointment and such. I prefer a small dainty diary like this as it's handier for me work wise and it's really pretty, plus it was only £1!. Also my glasses are usually lying about the bottom of my bag-I really should use my case but I always forget-whoops! It's time I invested in a few new pairs anyway.

Then I have my purse with all my cards and so on, and my small money purse where I just keep some loose change. I love my purse as I think it's quite unusual-I picked it up on holiday a few years ago in Cyprus. My small money purse is River Island and I love the colours-really vibrant and cheery.

Beauty wise I don't keep much-if I'm working I generally do not wear makeup Shock Horror but as I'm constantly running around at work in very humid conditions(why is it always so bloody warm!) it just looks awful after a 12-13 hour shift so I just use my Nspa Brightening Day Cream (which I love). I am never without some form of lip salve and the current favourite is Baby Lips in Hydrate me, which is surprisingly good and really hydrates and softens my lips.

If I am wearing makeup on a day off, rather than take my makeup bag I just take my 17 concealer for touch ups and a lipgloss, L'Oreal Glam Shine Dare The Dragon Fruit being my go to at the minute. I carry a mini Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter, because I love the smell, but also at work sometimes I use it after the many many many times I wash my hands. I take a bottle of my Victoria Secrets body spray for a quick spritz of freshness for work, I'm not as obsessed with these as every one else seems to be, I find them very sweet but a quick spritz is enough for me and truth be told I want to use them up. Waste not Want not as the old saying goes.

You'll also probably find a random packet of tissues and polo sweets in there, but I'm trying hard to keep it as minimalistic as possible as I would carry everything and the kitchen sink if I could, So that's What's In My Bag. Hope you liked it and if you have done a similar post let me know--I'm always intrigued to see what others have and what Lovely handbags they own!

The Best Scarf

Over the years I've collected so many scarves, and yet not one of them compares to the scarf of this season, the check Zara scarf!  I've seen them all over the streets of London and I'm not ashamed to join everyone in donning this warmth defender!  No pressure on Zara to create something equally as awesome for AW14!

Dove Hair Therapy

This Colour Radiance Leave in conditioning Spray from The Dove Solutions Range has been saving my hair since I discovered it several months ago in Boots. It's a Lightweight spray that can be used on dry or wet hair to give it an extra boost of hydration, leaving it silky smooth. It's a dual performance product with two distinct layers of a clear solution and a milky solution which settles on top. You need to mix it by gently shaking so the formula's combine and then spritz onto hair. My hair can be really tangled at times and before I discovered this lifesaver, I could easily spend 20minutes trying to untangle it whilst pulling out alot of my hair in the process. My hair has been revolutionised with this product-I apply it to freshly washed wet hair and let it work wonders. It is so weightless and does not feel heavy or greasy. It makes my hair so much more manageable and I can honestly say that brushing my hair now is a doddle!. My hair looks and feels so soft and it also smells really lovely-not overbearing but just really fresh. It costs £3.59 for 200ml and is well worth it..although I snapped up a few when they were half price...savvy shopper that I am. I would definitely recommend this spray if you have a troublesome mane that needs a bit of TLC as the leave in spray makes this product so much more practical and efficient. Definitely worth giving it a go for yourselves anyway.
